Blogvent #2 : Mini Crochet Christmas Stocking Pattern

017

I used aran wool in red and white with a 3.5mm hook. (I’m working with English names for stitches)

Toe (white)

Chain 2

Rnd1 : Work 6dc into the first chain (don’t join like, amigurumi style) (6 stitches)

Rnd 2:Work 2dc into each stitch in the round (12 stitches)

Round 3: Work 2dc into first stitch and 1dc into the second; repeat 5 times (18 stitches)

Rounds 4 – 6: Work 1 dc into each stitch in the round (3 rows of 18 stitches)

Tie off

Foot (red)

Attach red yarn

Rounds 7-14: Work 1dc into each stitch in the round (7 rows of 18 stitches)

Rounds 15 -20: Turn and chain one, then 1 dc in the next 8 stitches, repeat 5 times (6 rows of 9 stitches)

(this should give you sort of flap for the heel which goes half way around  the circumference of the foot)

Ankle (red still)

Round 21: Working down the side of the ‘heel flap’ reduce 4 stitches into 2dc, work 1 dc into each stitch across the front, reduce 4 stitches  into 2dc on the other side of the ‘heel flap’ and work 1dc into each stitch along the top of the heel (20 stitches)

Round 22: Repeat round 21 (18 stitches)

You have now attached the heel into the sock!

Rounds 23 – 32: Work 1dc into each stitch in the round (10 rounds of 18 stitches)

Tie off

Trim  (white)

Attach white yarn

Rounds 33- 37: Work 1dc into each stitch in the round (4 rounds of 18 stitches)

Hanging loop (white still)

Chain 14 stitches and connect with a slip stitch in the same stitch, tie off and darn in the tail of yarn……. you’re done!!!

Hope this makes sense :)
